About Us

EST. 2018

Dedicated to Plant Health

The Canadian Plant Health Council (CPHC) is committed to enhancing the protection of Canada’s diverse plant resources by bringing together plant health partners. We work collaboratively to help mitigate risks associated with pests and diseases that threaten forests and crops, fostering healthy and resilient ecosystems.

Since its establishment in October 2018, the CPHC has played a unifying role for organizations involved in plant health, aligning efforts with the Plant and Animal Health Strategy for Canada. Our focus is on shared education, proactive measures and coordinated action to strengthen Canada’s collective efforts to support plant health.

Our Mandate

The Canadian Plant Health Council (CPHC) works with plant health partners across Canada to strengthen the country’s plant health system. Through national leadership and coordination, the CPHC sets strategic priorities to advance plant health and support implementation of the Plant and Animal Health Strategy. The CPHC promotes collaboration, builds and maintains strong relationships among partners, and helps align initiatives to maximize impact. It also provides scientific, strategic, and policy advice to public and private sectors and ensures the Strategy remains relevant by adapting to emerging risks and evolving plant health needs.
